Allenton and Shelton Lock, St. Edmund

Allenton and Shelton Lock, St. Edmund

The Church was built in stone in 1939, just prior to the outbreak of the second world war. It was built in a “Norman” Style and appears to be older than it is. It is simply decorated inside, has a bell tower with a single bell. The interior was heavily influenced by the arts and crafts movement and was built to a very high standard.

Every month we run a coffee morning & book sale with light refreshments. Once a month we have an 8:30am spoken Holy Communion on a Sunday Morning, a family service at 11am & Evensong at 6pm. This is usually the first Sunday of the month.

We have a growing Sunday School that is held at the same time as Holy Communion which is every Sunday at 11am except when we have the family service. We are starting to run Messy Church and Bible Study sessions, please see our Facebook page for up to date details and times.

Please note: the church has a ramp for disabled access
