Burbage, Christ Church

Burbage, Christ Church

Christ Church, Burbage was built in 1861 at lies at the heart of Burbage village.  The church has a peal of six bells and a south middle window by Morris & Co designed by Burne-Jones.  The church has undergone major repairs over the past several years, costing around £250,000.

Several special services are held throughout the year, including the Clypping Service in early August when the congregation links hands around the outside of the church.  There is also a Remembrance service, beginning at the village war memorial and continuing in the church.  The Burbage Band plays at both services.  A Christmas Eve Crib Service and Midnight Mass are also well attended.
